Novated lease driver guide
Making the most of your novated lease.
Thank you for choosing InsideEDGE as your novated lease supplier. A novated lease means you’re going to save thousands on your car, but to make the most of the tax savings, ensure you follow the information contained in your driver guide when it comes to:
- Filling up with fuel
- Maintenance authorisation
- Servicing and maintenance
- Comprehensive insurance
- Registration and CTP
- Roadside Assistance
Use your fuel card when you fill up. That way you don’t pay GST on the cost of the fuel, and you’ll secure the discounts too!
You’ll be asked for an odometer reading with each purchase. To comply with Australian Tax Office requirements, your card(s) will only pay for the type of fuel your car uses.
Keep them safe, and treat them as you would any other credit card.
If lost or stolen, please call us immediately on 1300 551 987.
Before proceeding with any servicing & maintenance, tyres
or windscreen work on your car, make sure the service provider
calls the Smartfleet program first on 1300 780 097 for authorisation.
- The funds come out of your novated lease account,
not your pocket
- The work is genuinely required, and you’re not
- Only manufacturer recommended and authorised tyres
are fitted to your car.
Servicing and maintenance
Please service your car according to the manufacturer’s guidelines and at an authorised service outlet only. Interim services are not included in your lease budget.
Any damage to your windscreen should be inspected, and then
repaired or replaced as soon as possible. Windscreens are often covered by comprehensive insurance, so please check your policy before contacting a windscreen repairer or your car’s service provider.
To maintain safety on the road, it’s important to replace your tyres in line with your car manufacturer’s recommendations. We also recommend checking for signs of wear, and your tyre pressure on a monthly basis too.
Renewing your comprehensive insurance every year is essential and can be done in the following ways.
If your insurance is arranged by us:
- You don’t need to do anything, we’ll take care of it for you
If you organise your own insurance
- Pay the premium when your insurance company sends it to you
- Process a reimbursement through the Steer portal
If you have any questions, please call us on 1300 551 987.
Registration and CTP
- Pay the renewals
- Process a reimbursement through your Steer portal.
If you do not receive notice of your registration and CTP, contact your relevant state government website, and insurance company immediately.
If you are unsure on your program status, or would like to join our program, call us to discuss your options.
